Short-term goals this month are pretty easy to jot down. My shop is brand new, so now that it's up and running, my goals for this month are to continue working on more products to finish & list for sale soon.
More specifically, the items I've received the most compliments on have been my plush stuffed monsters:
When my kids saw these monsters they went NUTS! So of course, I promised this first batch could belong to them and I would continue making more for my shop. Well, they're kind of time consuming to sew from start to finish, and 5 kids really fill up my days pretty well, so I need to find a way to better organize my days to set aside some specific time to sit down at my sewing machine and crank these out.
I'm also working on some mini spiral notepads, and I have lots of exciting plans for several other new products I can't wait to work on, but I don't think I'll get to them this month, maybe next.
Oh! And I just finished creating a facebook fan page and begging all my friends to come over and 'like' it so I won't feel like a total loser.
Sometimes one of the biggest parts of opening up a new shop is all the initial set up work (web site, FB page, shop, all the packaging and labeling materials, business cards, etc.). And when you're really busy trying to get all of those things taken care of, it can feel as if there's not much time left to work on actually making your products.
So I'm glad to have a ton of my initial set up stuff finally completed and out of the way. Now it's on to lots more fun making more products!
